SOS (Save Our Shirts)

Give that (men's) shirt a second life!

Most men own too many shirts. Those shirts are often made from high-quality fabric and are beautifully finished. Yet, they wear out the fastest at the collar and cuffs, where the fabric constantly rubs against the body. Sometimes, a stubborn stain, one that no amount of washing or detergent can remove, is enough to render a shirt unwearable.

Let’s be honest: nothing looks sexier on a woman’s body than a classic men’s shirt.

What can you do with them?

Cut off the collar and leave the shirt as is—hello, modern frayed Mandarin collar!

Unpick the worn-out collar and cuffs and use them as templates (adding seam allowances as needed) to create parts from scrap fabric or fabric taken from another shirt to revive and refashion the garment.

Give a stained shirt fresh front panels, either newly made or stolen from another men’s shirt.

Shorten the shirt just below the waist and use the leftover fabric for patch pockets. What about adding a drawstring to the hem, like #FibreMoodHamsa? Super easy to do!

And so many more possibilities… I’m sure your mind is already buzzing with ideas.

Time for a men’s wardrobe raid!
