1. Where does your love for sewing or the idea of making it your profession come from?
Nordhorn was known as a textile city in the 20th century with big names like Nino, Rawe, and Povel. So the topic of "fabric" was practically in Jan-Hermann Brünink’s cradle from the start.
2. How long have you had your business?
In 1990, Jan-Hermann Brünink started his own fabric business. Over the years, he opened around 30 fabric stores in northern Germany. In 2004, his son Alexander Brünink launched the online shop.

Nowadays, people love to shop online – and why not? We offer excellent customer service, expert advice on fabrics and products, and we ship fabric samples. That way, customers can test color, quality, and texture beforehand. Our experienced staff are happy to help find the right material. Nordhorn is and remains a textile city. Many suppliers and partners are based here, which allows for short supply routes and many collaboration opportunities.
6. What was the first pattern you ever sewed?
A raglan shirt from the book "Das Shirt" by Leni Pepunkt, with a contrasting yoke.
7. Do you notice a comeback in DIY fashion?
Absolutely. Especially during the pandemic, many rediscovered DIY fashion. The demand for individuality is higher than ever.
8. Do you have many young sewistas among your customers?
Our customers are of all ages. But we’re especially happy about the younger generation discovering sewing. We offer plenty of helpful tips to get them started!
9. Which sewista do you admire?
We’re especially proud of our collaboration with pattydoo. Ina Fischer has inspired and supported many with her sewing videos – in a refreshingly easy and accessible way!
10. What is your ultimate dream?
Of course, we always have dreams. Thanks to our young, motivated team, we can implement new ideas quickly. Our teamwork is the perfect foundation for success. Our greatest dream: complete customer satisfaction— that’s our goal every day.
