Print mixing is one of those fashion trends that probably needs a little thought, because throwing multiple random prints together? How do you make that look fashionable? Here we’ve got some handy tips that will make light work of print-mixing!
MATCHY COLOURS
Combining two prints? That's easy! Opt for duos that enhance each other, such as a classy striped shirt and trousers in a romantic floral pattern. Pro tip: stay in the same colour tones for a balanced and calm look.
DIY
Not quite convinced you'll match the right pieces? Then opt for a fabric that already has different prints in it. Think patchwork (hello, upcycling) or just fun, funky fabrics.
SAME, BUT DIFFERENT
The key to success? That is to look for the same pattern, but in a different version or structure. For example: a polka-dot dress under a polka-dotted jumper or plaid trousers with plaid blouse.
ACCESSORIES
Combining more than 2 prints together? Nice and daring, but you can easily do it if you add accessories into the mix. A cool animal print on top of your existing mix? Top! We’re thinking for example trendy zebra loafers under our fave striped trousers or leopard banana with romantic floral print.
SUBTLE PLEASE
Could it be a bit more subtle? Then go for micro prints, at first sight a plain garment, but super interesting when you zoom in. And statement jewellery or striped socks will also do the trick, but a little sneaky ;-)
