In collaboration with the Fashion Museum Antwerp, we designed a special pattern: the Lucy jacket. The pattern can be found in our very first special edition and you can also buy it as a pdf pattern in our webshop. The jacket is an interpretation on a 1930s bed jacket from the MOMU study collection. The short jacket was worn over a long dress as an evening ensemble or as a bed jacket in private. The original piece consists of geometric shapes. The front panels are decorated with four pink diamonds. The jacket is fully quilted in large diamond pattern. Furthermore, the design has a V-neckline and raglan sleeves with cropped, angled cuffs. Originally, the jacket closed with a single button in the shape of a Vietnamese hat or nón lá. Both cut and button indicate Asian influences on Western European fashion in this period.
The Lucy coat is Fibre Mood's reimagining of this piece. In our contemporary version, we kept many of the original elements, such as the V-neck and geometric shapes. The jacket is lined and includes pockets, but feel free to omit this.
Lucy is beautiful in all kinds of fabrics. In jacquard, quilt, rib velvet, jeans, suede or lyocell? The choice is yours! Moreover, you can don Lucy for different occasions. Casual to the office paired with a turtleneck and trousers? Or a more dressy look paired with a skirt or dress? As in the choice of fabric, the styling options are also endless! Let your imagination run wild and create your own unique Lucy jacket.

On Sunday 20 November, you could find Fibre Mood at the patterns inspiration day info fair at the Fashion Museum Antwerp. The entire afternoon was dedicated to sewing patterns.
