Style advice for the Marion dress

The Marion dress for A-types

Your body shape has a narrower torso compared to the wider lower body.
To provide an adequate counterweight to your wide hips, make sure you make your shoulders look wider too. The raglan sleeves are less ideal because they do the opposite, softening the shoulder line and making them look narrower. Address this by making the neckline wider (not deeper!) than the initial pattern. By doing so, you’ll create a horizontal line at the shoulders (instead of the gentle, curved neckline) and gain ‘shoulder width’. Highlight your waist. Always tighten the tie at the waist to make the top billow more, creating the volume you need.

Draw as much attention to your torso as possible. You can do that with accessories, with a striking necklace, or earrings, for example. Keep things plain at the bottom of your silhouette. For instance, don’t wear shoes that are too showy.

Make the sleeves as simple as possible and leave the flounce off to avoid creating more volume on your lower body.
Fabric with a fluid drape is right for you, since it will fall nicely around your hips.

Your body shape looks best with dresses that draw plenty of attention at shoulder and/or bust height. Dresses that will make you dazzle include the Elodie, Jane, Agatha, Rosie, and Susan (tightened with a belt).

The Marion dress for H-types

The H-type has hips and shoulders that are more or less the same widths. The only thing missing is a clear waistline.
Make good use of the tie because it breaks up the midriff, creating the illusion of a waist.
Add extra details to the bust or shoulder area or wear jewellery that accentuates your upper body to compensate for the lower body’s volume.

A knee-length Marion will flatter your figure the most. After all, that will show off your lovely legs!

The Marion dress for I-types

You have an outspoken slender and ‘pencil’ shaped figure. I-types benefit from creating more body and a clear waistline.
Consequently, don’t be afraid to tighten the dress snugly at the waist for more feminine curves. The balloon sleeves and ruffles also dose your straight figure with more body and interest.

Your body shape could benefit from a dose of extra pizazz. That means that textured fabrics, brighter colours and patterned fabrics are more than a little welcome when you’re making this dress.

Willowy, flowing fabrics are always beautiful, but stiffer fabric will help you create the bunches of extra volume you’re looking for, in this case. Marion is a true must-have for slim rectangles.

The Marion dress for O-types

O-types tend to have a broad waist or lack one altogether. Consequently, they would like to draw attention to other areas, such as the shoulders, face, wrists, legs, etc. The perfect dress for an O-type should create as many vertical lines as possible and create enough structure at the shoulders. Unfortunately, that’s somewhat problematic with the Marion. It features slightly too many horizontal lines for your body shape, and the raglan sleeves don’t provide enough structure at the shoulders.
However, the ruffled sleeve trim does draw attention to your wrists beautifully.

Make the dress in fabric with small designs and patterns throughout. That creates visual ‘chaos’ so that the eye doesn’t hover too long on a single point. Soft, round patterns – flowers for instance – are a lovely option.
Definitely avoid overly stiff fabrics.

The Marion dress for V-types

V-types tend to be top-heavy, with the centre of gravity above the waist. They have fairly broad shoulders or are busty, with a narrower lower body. The main goal here should be to attract extra attention to your lower body, evening out your proportions.

The Marion dress does that fantastically for you! The raglan sleeves make your shoulders look narrower and your hips look fuller; they soften the broad, angular line of your shoulders. At the same time, the wide, flared skirt creates the right amount of volume at the bottom.

The ruffled sleeve trim is the perfect ‘conversation piece’ for the lower half of your silhouette.

The Marion dress for X- and 8-types

X- and 8-types are naturally well proportioned, The shoulders and hips are more or less the same widths and there is a clear waistline. Consequently, you should choose garments that follow your body’s natural curves and highlight your waist as much as possible. Marion will look lovely on you provided that you always use the tie to tighten it at the waist. The dress is also playful, which adds the right schwung to your silhouette.

Make Marion in fabric with a fluid drape either in a solid or a delicate floral print. Finish it off with ultra-feminine accessories.
