Jungle on the catwalk: Animal Prints

Disguise your human nature for just a little while and let the animal within literally come out. Since last year, the animal print trend has been a top trend that you can find all up and down the high streets. Despite the quick entrance and exit of most trends, this print is ‘here to stay’. That includes the times when it's been extra popular to the timeless items. And in 2019 too, this print is an ultra chic must-have.

During the 2018 collection fashion weeks, nobody could get enough of animal prints. It’s a classic that’s ruled the fashion world multiple times over the years and has now made another comeback with the most highly-coveted ready-to-wear brands of today. That was promising for 2019, where the well-known retail chains are now packed with animal prints intended to charm everyone in the streets into their true fans. And we can’t fault them for it, although a personal sewing project in one of these prints does add a touch more exclusive.

The advantage to this trend? There’s an animal print for every style: from snakeskin, tiger prints, and cowhide to zebra and leopard prints. There's no lack of diversity! It’s also possible to play with the print colours and sizes to suit a subtle look, or the exact opposite, with a look that really screams – check me out! Speaking of ‘check me out’, this trend really shines in a ‘full animal look’. Just get out those snakeskin trousers or an ankle-length tiger print dress and pair them with (faux) animal accessories. Do you prefer to take to the streets as a subtle, but trendy underdog? Go for animal prints in the details: belts, handbags, shoes or certain details on garments, such as wrist trim, for instance. Even Fibre Mood has succumbed to the animal kingdom, just check out the Alma or Erin, finished in a trendy animal print!

Is your wardrobe ready to say hello to animal prints? Well, in the meantime you can check out more inspiration for this happening trend here.
