Style advice for the Luz Cardigan

The Luz Cardigan for O-types

Where your body shape is concerned, creating as many vertical lines as possible is key. Given your lack of waist, a long cardigan is the most flattering option.
If you still prefer something shorter, then make the Luz in hip length. Pay careful attention to your colour palette (monochrome colours!) to create the maximum amount of visual stretch.

The pockets create a horizontal line at the hips. Your hips are proportionately narrower, so the pocket version definitely works for you. That said, a pocketless version will maximise your vertical lines.

Tip: to flatter your figure, add structure to your shoulders with shoulder pads.

Make the Luz cardigan in a fine knit or any fabric that isn’t too bulky in a medium to dark shade.

Combo tip: pair with straight leg or slightly flared trousers such as the Bertha, Benita, or Bea trousers and wear boots.

The Luz Cardigan for H-types

H-types have shoulders and hips that are about the same width. The only thing missing is a clear waistline. Your figure is well-balanced, and we want to keep it that way.

Given your lack of waist, a long cardigan is your best option.

If you still prefer something shorter, then make the Luz in hip length. After all, the idea is to stretch your upper body. Add structure to your shoulders with shoulder pads. That will also lengthen your torso and make your waist appear smaller.

The pockets create a horizontal line at the hips. That’s o.k. as long as you make sure that you add the right amount of structure to your shoulder line too.

Wearing the cardigan with a belt will create a waist. Pair the cardigan with a pair of flared trousers, such as the Bea trousers (with boots), or the Benita or Bertha trousers.

Prints also work well on your figure, with a nice graphic design as the best option.

Luz

The Luz Cardigan for I-types

I-types have a slender, straight figure. The long version of the Luz will only accentuate your pencil-shaped figure more. To create body, make the pocket version and make sure the sleeves are long enough for you to roll up. A short version is more flattering on you. It gives more substance to your torso, and you can pair it with skirts or trousers that add plenty of curves and interest to your lower body.

Go for a print or something in a striking colour, and mix and match to your heart’s content! Your body benefits from extra structure, so avoid thin, flimsy fabrics that drape lifelessly over your body.

Tip: jazz up your outfit with plenty of accessories!

The Luz Cardigan for A-types

The hips form the widest point on the pear’s body and the shoulders are comparatively narrower. Make sure the Luz cardigan stops either just above or just below the widest point on your body.

Consider making the cardigan without pockets to avoid any unnecessary attention on the lower body. Try to draw the gaze upwards wherever possible, for example with jewellery or by wearing a scarf in your hair. The shirt or blouse you pair with the Luz should be in a vibrant colour or a print. Bonus tip: work with shoulder pads to give your shoulder line the structure it needs.

Plan on making the short version? In that case, make it in a light or striking colour to make your torso the main focus.
If you make the long version, keep it understated. Pair with trousers or a skirt in a medium to dark shade.

Always accentuate your waist, but make sure that the transition between the upper and lower body remains smooth.

Choose a fine knit to avoid accumulating too much volume around the hips.

Luz

The Luz Cardigan for X- and 8-types

Your shoulders and hips are more or less the same widths and you have a clear waistline, i.e., your body is naturally well-proportioned. Choose clothing styles that follow the natural curves of your body and highlight your waist as much as possible.

Wear the Luz cardigan with a belt and tighten at the waist. Shorten the sleeves to show off your wrists and add more interest at the waist.

Use a (slightly) stiffer fabric or one with a fluid drape, one that gracefully hugs your natural curves.

The short version of the Luz is the most flattering on your figure. Make sure that the cardigan stops right above the widest point on your hips.

The Luz Cardigan for V-types

V-types tend to be top-heavy, with the centre of gravity above the waist. What that means is that your shoulders are the widest point on your body or that you have a larger bust. In contrast, everything below your waist is smaller, meaning that your hips are also on the narrow side. Add additional volume to the lower body to help balance out your figure.

The extended shoulder line, with sleeves inserted lower, softens and relaxes your straight, visually heavier shoulders. Definitely make the version with pockets. These create a horizontal line at the hips, which is a great way to even out the proportions of your broad shoulders.

Choose a soft fabric with a fluid drape for the Luz cardigan in a relatively dark shade. The idea is to detract as much attention as possible from your upper body. Pair with light-coloured bootcut trousers or jeans.

You could also make a short version of the cardigan in a sober colour and pair it with a bottom piece in a print. The point is to restore the balance of your proportions. The print will create visual interest and distract from your upper body.
