The Gusta dress for O-types

O-types and H-types: this is your dress! Your body shape needs as many vertical lines as possible to lengthen and slim down your figure. That means drawing every ounce of attention away from your midriff.

The Gusta dress drapes loosely over your body's midriff and the bust darts/French darts incorporating pockets create a slimming effect around the stomach.

You'll shine in the Gusta dress worn just above or below the knee because it draws attention to your lovely legs.

Be sure to choose fabric with enough ‘body’, possibly with a vertical stripe pattern.

The Gusta dress for H-types

O-types and H-types: this is your dress! The H-type has hips and shoulders that are more or less the same width. The only thing missing is a clear waist. You have two options: either you try to create one, or you go the other way and try to disguise what isn't there.

The Gusta dress’ straight cut hides what you don't have (a waist!). Thanks to the bust darts/French darts and the decorative horizontal seam over the bust, the other areas of your body shift to look more proportionate. This creates a lovely balance between the upper and lower parts of your figure.

Make the dress in a stiff fabric or fabric with geometric patterns or stripes, or simply make it in something plain, in a neutral colour. Anything goes!

The Gusta dress for I-types

Your body shape has a very slim, straight figure but lacks a waist. Anything that gives your body a little more shape is welcome!

It's precisely for this reason that the Gusta dress isn't the most appealing cut for your figure. The dress is simply too straight. The bust darts/French darts with hidden pockets and the decorative horizontal seam do, however, add a little playfulness to your figure.

If you must make the dress, be sure to make it in a colour that stands out, or go for something light. Avoid dark colours because they have a lengthening, and therefore slimming effect – which is the last thing your figure needs.

The Gusta dress for A-types

Your body shape is characterised by a fuller lower body with a proportionately narrower upper body. To even out your figure’s proportions, the aim is to draw attention to the upper body and away from the lower. That’s key! At the same time, the goal is to accentuate the waist.

The dress has a lovely round neckline and a horizontal seam over the bust that 'broadens’ the upper body. The straight cut, however, isn’t great for your figure because it doesn’t emphasise your waist at all.

The Faye and Joanne dresses are both better options for you.

The Gusta dress for X- and 8-types

Gusta is not a great dress for either of these body shapes because it doesn’t highlight the waist at all.

The X- and 8-types have bodies that are naturally well-balanced. The shoulders and hips are more or less the same width and there is a clear waistline. Choose clothing styles that follow your body's natural curves and highlight your waist as much as possible.

This lovely dress isn’t really for you; it doesn’t hug your natural curves and actually disguises your waist.

For that reason, why not consider the Izzy, Faye, Joanne, Trish, Kamille, Vienna or Taylor dresses?

The Gusta dress for V-types

V-types tend to be top-heavy. They have fairly wide shoulders and are busty; however, the lower body is narrower. The goal for your body shape is to visually tone down your shoulders. You can make your silhouette more proportional by drawing attention away from the shoulders and deflecting it to the lower body.

The straight cut of the dress and the waist area do wonders for your figure; however, the horizontal seam puts your figure’s centre of gravity too high. You can fix that by flaring the dress at the bottom into an A-line.

A few other nice options for you are the Mira, Trish, Violet and Pola dresses.
